Friends, Family, Food and Fireworks.  And beer.  That about sums up what's so great about 4th of July weekend. 

 

It was also my 13th wedding anniversary yesterday!  Lucky 13.  We married young and they never thought we'd make it this far.  Still married to the handsome man who stole my heart and swept me off my feet.  Love you Shawn!

A Crafty Craft Show-Filled Weekend!

If you live in the Tacoma, WA area, you are in luck!  There are a ton of great craft events going on this weekend.  Most notably, are the two I'm participating in (yay!)

Tacoma Is For Lovers Holiday Craft Sale

The Artisan Sale is Saturday only, but lasts from 10 AM to 4 PM (so you can definitely make it to both events!)  I'll be at the Tacoma Is For Lovers Holiday Craft Sale on Sunday only, but you should plan to come BOTH days because there will be different artists each day!  You wouldn't believe some of the talent these events will be featuring...

I have OODLES of new hair pieces that I'm really proud of.  Here's a sneak peek of what I'll be selling (lots of rich colors, vintage details, Czech glass beads... think "Glamorous Woodland Winter.")

But it's only a sneak peek!  You'll have to come out to see what else I've made!  There's quite a bit more variety this time around (just MORE in general.)  I also made a few Christmas ornaments.  Little lacy bits to trim the tree made from vintage Chantilly lace and little glittery decoupage baskets -not  too "Christmas-y" so they would be perfect for any occasion to give!

If you can't make it to either event this weekend, you can hop on up to Seattle for the very fancy Queen Anne Artist Trunk Show at the Queen Anne Community Center on Saturday the 20th!  I'll be there selling more goodies, along with some other amazingly talented artists!

Holiday fascinators comin' atcha!

Here's what I've been slaving away at!  Flowers, holiday colors, vintage buttons, oh my.  Find them for sale at the upcoming craft shows listed here!

Ugh.

It's been so long!  I promise this won't be a downer of a post!  In fact, that was a grunt of relief.  I've had two very big custom projects to complete, one of which has been completed and shipped off (should arrive today!  Eek of excitement!)  and the other which is 75% done.  I have three big craft events coming up (listed below), and I've also been working on some pieces here and there for the holidays, filling Etsy orders, restocking local shops and trying to keep up with life in general (and the gutters falling down and the broken fireplace and the cat that has been using my dining nook as her private powder room...)  But life is good!  Busy, but good!

Here is some of the custom work I've done recently:

THIS is why Etsy is great!  Anything you can imagine can be made for you.  You can post requests using the Alchemy feature and take bids from sellers, or contact sellers directly to see if they'll work with you to make custom items.

If you need a custom order for fascinators, bridal hair accessories, bridesmaids gifts, boutonnieres, corsages, veils, etc. made from feathers, silk flowers and interesting vintage pieces, I'm your gal.  I'll work within your budget and try to create something very special and unique.  These pieces were all painstakingly crafted.  What can I say?  I love a challenge! 

My dad was impressed with my custom items, so that made me feel extra good about them.  Here are some of the items you'll see at the upcoming craft shows!
