Tuesday Treasury - Sweet Mama!

I'm so inspired by these colors right now.  I went to a baby shower Sunday and they had a bowl of pillow mints at the dessert table.  I thought "those are so fantastic together."  So this is sort of inspired by that!

Enjoy this vintage vibe and playful palette!  Happy Tuesday!  :)

Tuesday Treasury! Blue Blue Christmas

I know it's still early, but I'm excited!  I listened to Christmas music on the radio all yesterday morning.  Keeps me motivated to craft!  Love it!

Here is a treasury with a vintage feel.  When I was shopping St. Vincent De Paul yesterday (where they have a whole second floor devoted to Christmas decorations!!!) I came across a bunch of pretty blue mercury glass ornaments.  I guess that's what inspired this...

Oh, and there was a giant windstorm last night AND a mini Earthquake this morning!!!  A very exciting 24 hours all around!

Happy Tuesday!

Tuesday Treasury!

*hack* *hack* *cough* *cough*

Obviously, I have a cold.  A monster cold and a fever.  Right before I have all the big crafty craft shows (dates at the bottom of this post.  Not this actual post, but the underlined aforementioned "this post.")  Fingers crossed it's done by Friday!  If not, I'll be armed with some DayQuil...

Here's your Tuesday Treasury!  I was thinking lovely pink fluffy thoughts when I made this.  Some really fun items in here.  Maybe my next one will be the vintage kitchen...

Wowza!

I feel so honored to be on the front page of Etsy again!  It was at about 2 AM here, but still.  :)

Tuesday is Treasury Day (I've just decided)

I'm addicted to treasury-making on Etsy.  Much like my blog-envy problem, treasury-making involves coveting others creative genius and ability to produce wonderful items.  Seeing as how Etsy just hooked up with HGTV (Feelings? Thoughts?), treasury-making has become even MORE exciting and competitive to be featured on the front page.  But that's not why I do it (although it would be awesome.)  I love to browse Etsy, in fact I spend way too much time doing so, but it gives me so much inspiration and delight to see the beautiful things my fellow artists are making.

Here is my latest treasury:

Dark and Stormy

Beautiful items!  Give it a try - it's fun!  My theme was "Dark and Stormy."  I picked the most eye catching items that came up in searches for keywords like "dark," "cloudy," "rainy," "storm," etc. that suited my desire to focus on dark gray, silver and a hint of red.  I rearranged them in the treasury until I was satisfied, tagged it with keywords, and clicked publish.

The sellers were sent a message, some posted about it on their blogs or in item descriptions.  I find it's a great way to connect with other sellers and maybe even get a few new shop hearts.  But mostly, it's just fun to shop and collect without ever having to spend a dime (would if I could!!!)

I shall try to post a new treasury every Tuesday.  Happy voting, fellow Washingtonians, and have a great night!

Handmade Toy Alliance and Etsy

In honor of the Handmade Toy Alliance's Blog Week, I've created an Etsy Treasury featuring HTA members who are also fellow Etsy sellers.  There are some very sweet toys and handmade goods for children, only a few of which I've featured here.

I think my top three favorites are:

The Giving Saving and Spending Tags by MamaRoots.  My kids are just starting to earn allowance and we feel like it's so important to instill in them money management skills at a young age!  Especially the "Giving" part.  :)

Primitive Tetris!  What a great idea!  Remember how addictive Tetris was when you were a kid (ahem, I guess I still am since it's on my IPhone...)?  This fabric game can go along with you to a day at the beach or the park and you don't have to worry about it getting ruined if it gets dirty, sandy or wet.  A great quiet game or something to play solo.  This item is made by Blynken and Nod.  I love her Etsy Bio:

"I do not:
Run the local PTA
Sing on tune
Run a mile in less than 10
Play the banjo
Stick to an organic diet
Always make dinner
Compost
Reread the classics at every opportunity

I do:
Bake when I'm stressed
Reuse what I can
Inhale audiobooks while I work
Brainstorm when I should be sleeping
Teach my girls not to litter
Love farmer's markets
Intend to read the PTA newsletters
Enjoy listening to people who can sing on tune
Dance shamelessly when nobody's looking
Love my husband and children and...
LoveLoveLove a good creative project
"

Amen, sister!

The Stuffed Animal Horse by Woolies.  Since my children are obsessed with horses, I have gained a new appreciation for all things Equine.  The horse is stuffed with soft wool and knit with 100% wool yarn, so I'm automatically in love.  The description states "Spring is brave and strong, and runs free with her band of wild horses."  Spring sounds awesome.

Take a look around at these online shops, and don't forget to leave a comment on the Treasury!  The more clicks and comments this Treasury gets, the more likely Etsy is to feature these HTA members on their front page.

And remember, when you need a gift for someone small, check out all the great Handmade Toy Alliance members on Etsy!
